Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the 2014 International
Symposium on Nano Science and Technology, fully showing the results of its
International Exchange and its development into an international university of Science and Technology.
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) held the 2014 International Symposium on Nano Science and Technology (ISNST) on October 17 and 18, sponsored by the Office of Nano Science-Industry Integration (an agent of the Ministry of Education), Southwest Regional Teaching Resources Center, the Economic Development Department of Tainan City Government, and the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials, STUST. A number of scholars from well-known universities of five countries participated in the symposium; in addition, 10 outstanding scholars from Taiwan, China, Japan, India and other countries were invited to give speeches concerning application of nano-materials in high-performance batteries, interface science of nanotechnology and related phenomena, and application of micro-electro-mechanical components in bio-detectors, etc. This is also the first year STUST held the "International University-Industry Forum." The seminar has been held over the past 12 years since 2003. Every year, it attracts more than 130 articles on nanotechnology and the latest results of related research from different countries. It has become one of the most important international events on nanotechnology and advanced materials annually held in South Taiwan.
