of Science and Technology held the 11th International Culture and Art Festival

【Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the 11th International Culture and Art Festival: executives and representatives of international students.】

The International and Cross-strait affairs Office, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, held on the 4th of May the 2016 International Art and Culture Festival. 250 international students from France, Guatemala, United States, South Korea, Indonesia, Peru, India, Mongolia, Hungary, Serbia, Vietnam, Austria, Malaysia, Thailand, Croatia, Japan, and China were invited to participate in the annual event. A total of 11 groups of international students participated in performances, showing various cultures of their countries. The performances include Mongolia traditional dance and RAP riding dance performances, traditional Vietnamese graceful hat dance, the American Funk and DJ dance music show, Indonesian traditional Tor-Tor dance, plus the theatrical performance with which the Malaysian students told about how students who study in Taiwan miss their homes and how they meet and separate.

The 2016 International Arts Festival through enthusiastic won great responses from international students and was greatly supported by the enthusiastic participation of teachers and students, showing the pluralistic international outlook. Director Yong-Peng Wang of the International Affairs Office said that in the 11th international arts festival, we hope that through exchanges with foreign cultures; joyful and richly exotic activities not only allowed foreign students to express their feelings of homesickness, but also to showcase the cultural heritage of their home countries and promote their cross-cultural identities. It was hoped that through international student interactions, they could learn to respect each other, understand each other's cultures and customs, expand their international and world views, and leave great memories of their campus lives here.

There were a total of 17 exotic cuisine food stalls—sweet, crisp, colorful, fragrant, and full of crowds. With their well-furnished and ready intentions, International students showed an integration of multi-cultural learning environment, with both gourmet feast and exotic artifacts presented so that students of different nationality could participate in this event and enjoy authentic cuisine from exotic countries without going abroad. They could also recognize the unique customs of different peoples. The event promoted the activities via the web for students to participate in festive atmosphere; students from various countries also came to recognize Taiwan night market food, fragrant rice cake, and the circle topping games Taiwanese people used to play in childhood.
