The competition was mainly based on the design and application of intelligent robots. In combination with the related technologies of artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, participating teams need to work together with teams in different fields to design intelligent robots that were both stable and dexterous. They also had to think about application scenarios and business model, in order to win the fierce competition. The event was open for registration from June to September this year. A total of 62 teams nationwide signed up for the competition. The 20 teams that entered the final had to go through Design Thinking, intensive entrepreneurship training, Pitch Day and Demo Show. During the two days of final events on the 4th and 5th of November, top three teams and the best three works were selected by experts from academic and industrial spheres. The top two outstanding team were allowed to be stationed in the South Branch Venture Workshop and take the follow-up counseling. PARS team—composed of students from the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology—won the championship with a prize money of $NT 180,000. It is hoped that the competition would increase the opportunities for the cooperation between different industries and academia, provide innovative elements to the basement of robotics production, and bring new vitality into the intelligent machinery industry in the science park.
