Congratulations! Teachers and students from the Mechanical Engineering Department of Southern Taiwan University of Technology won the championship of 2014 Semiconductor and Optoelectronic AOI Project Competition
In the 2014 Semiconductor and Optoelectronic AOI Project Competition, held by The Ministry of Education as part of its Advanced Industrial Facilities Personnel Training Program, Professor Chih-Liang Chu and his student team--Chen Hung-Chi, Hsu Ching- Yun, and Chen Kuan Yu—from Mechanical Engineering Department, Southern Taiwan University of Technology, won first prize of the graduate group (gold medal). After a highly competitive challenge and a strict review, they were awarded the prize for their “Autofocus Three-dimensional Measurement System with Linear Nano-positioning,” with which they won NTD 30,000 and were highly recognized and affirmed by judges from both academic and industrial organizations.
The main purpose of this competition is to encourage students across the country to actively engage in developing semiconductor and optoelectronic AOI feature production. It is hoped that it can help training the next generation of R & D personnel related fields in order to have the design of semiconductor and optical cross-industry equipment, production, and integration. Autofocus Three-dimensional Measurement System with Linear Nano-positioning is an integration of measuring machines, nano-positioning stage, measuring probe, control systems, measurement software. This measurement system, developed to meet the requirement of low cost and customization, has been transferred to related industry for further development and use.
