Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has the first Eagle racing car in Taiwan, and it wins.

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST), has been creating vehicles over the past years—a series of solar cars, formula racing car, environmentally friendly cars, electric cars and many others—and has had outstanding performances in various international and national competitions.

The production team of UDN TV’s "Fun Driving Record "program visited the race team and produced a whole series of programs to introduce our Eagle FormulaSAE race team. The eagling racing car has been upgraded to its sixth generation, and this year it will once again go to Japan for contests in the name of Taiwan. Each racing car is the outcome of the efforts and teamwork of teachers and students working together for a full year. It not only allows students to really make theory and practice meets but also make contact with outside vendors. In the meantime, it offers great chances for students to expand their international perspectives.

In 2005, STUST began to help students develop their formula racing team, which was not only the first one by students in Taiwan but also the only one that is currently involved in racing tournament. The team participated in the Japanese competition in three consecutive years from 2006 to 2008, winning 3rd prize for energy saving and 2nd prize for unique design. The team went to China for two consecutive years to join the Shanghai and Hubei competitions in 2012 and 2013, returning with greater results. It won the first prize in the Marketing Report category and Best On-site Performance Award, showing the strength of STUST in promoting racing car industry.
