Experience the culture of lunar new year in Taiwan: Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held
a Lunar New Year party for international students

Chinese Language Central and the Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST), held a Lunar New Year party for its international students before the Lunar New Year. There are a great variety of activities in this great event, including an introduced to the Lunar New Year in Taiwan, window grilles paper cutting, couplet writing, saying luck-winning words, reunion dinner, red-enveloped money giving, and many other great activities to make the international students experience the traditional culture and atmosphere of joy in the Lunar New Year.

Deputy President Wu said congratulations to the staff and international students on behalf of STUST, giving everyone an red envelope with lucky money in it and wishing all of them a great year to come. Wu also explained the meaning of each traditional dish in the reunion dinner to the international students and encouraged them to have a trip on the island to experience local activities for celebration and acquire more knowledge about Taiwanese culture.

This year, STUST also held a matchmaking activity for 5 international students to find their host families in Taiwan. 5 households from Tainan and Kaohsiung came with enthusiastic reception for international students. They will receive the 5 international students during the Lunar New Year period, leading them to experience the Lunar New Year through events, festivals, and all kinds of great traditional foods.
