“A Dream to Build and Run After” Project is characterized by the idea that the participants offer to make their dream come true by actively and independently implementing their own project and financing plans, sponsored by the teaching excellence plan of the MOE. The participants have to complete their project over the summer. Although sponsored by the school’s funding, students still need to overcome all kinds of challenges, including the unpredictable changes in weather and the limited budget itself, before they can eventually make their dream come true.

"Ring your dream" team came the Department of Environmental Engineering and the Department of Multimedia and Entertainment Science, led by Jian-Yao Hong and Guan-Wei Chen, Chuang-Chi Cheng and supported by 7 students from other universities. The 10 young people launched a bicycle ride around the island, carrying with them love and harmonica. On their tour, they stopped by a lot of orphanages in remote towns, taught kids how to play harmonica, and encouraged them to replace 3C products with harmonica and musical resonance they could find therein. Moreover, they went to clean beaches along the way, trying their best to arouse the environmental awareness from within tourists and residents. Most notably, in their trip, they heard that the Kaohsiung City was blasted by a sudden gas explosion; immediately, they decided to go there to help people caught in that disaster. In addition to the efforts and contributions they had made, their involvement in helping people there gave this dream-trip more significance.

Their perseverance and willing to take challenges up stood as the best portrayal of the problem-solving heroes at the core of this project.
"Cherish the Old Days" team created a series of painting for the theme of "Cherish the Old Days” that stressed the simple and the innocent and highlighted the affections between people and things they cherish and treasure. From August 25 to 31, they held an exhibition in Japan, where they showed different cultures and feelings for different situations.
