2014 INOVA Croatian International Invention Exhibition:
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won two bronze medals

The 39th International Exhibition of Inventions Croatia in 2014 gathered about 19 countries and 609 works in the exhibition. WIIPA (World Invention Intellectual Property Associations) led the delegation of Taiwan to the contest, winning a number of prizes. Among the prizes are the two bronze medals which STUST won with two inventions greatly affirmed by the INOVA General Assembly. The two inventions are "Solar Powered Night Guard" and "Solar Powered Information Display Device," both of which employ environmentally friendly green technology and creative elements of the invention.

"Solar Powered Night Guard" is an invention by the research team of Electronic Engineering Department led by Prof. Wen-Jun Chang, Prof. Jin-Cheng Guo, Prof. Fu-Lin Lin, and Prof. Pan-Wei Yang. The device employs solar power panels to illuminate the LED lights on jackets and coats, offering the traffic safety in the night with the bright LED and thereby effectively enhancing the function of safety alert in the dark.

"Solar Powered Information Display Device" integrates a display panel with the solar chargeable panel to form a solar-powered information display, which is very popular for its creativity and its use of the green technology with environmentally friendly elements.
