The purpose of this competition is to enhance students’ knowledge of business operations and entrepreneurial learning, to encourage students to learn through exchanges of thoughts and ideas, and to create opportunities for academic institutions and businesses to communicate with and learn from each other, thereby giving rise to trends of the innovativeness and entrepreneurship by young students. As Yu-Wei Guo, Yu-Tsi Cheng, and Shin-Hung Guo pointed out, while domestic tourism has been flourishing in recent years and the demand of knowledge and quality of tourism has been increasing, tourists cannot acquire professional guided tours unless they join a group. To solve this problem, their team offered their App-GuideddA tour-guide system, a combination of Google route planning and navigation and audio guidance for tourists. It is indeed an eye-catching gadget to all the judges in terms of design concept, design motivation, and LOGO design.

Prof. Ying-Ren Pan, adviser of the winning team, pointed out that it is not an easy job for tourism related students to win the competition. Only when they are able to show their expertise and knowledge in the design can they grab the opportunity to win it. After a number of meetings, discussions, and brainstorming sessions, they had repeatedly modified the product before they became one of the finalists in the competition. With their marvelous presentation in the final showdown, they eventually won the competition
