The Graduate Institute of Finance Department, Southern Taiwan University of
Science and Technology, won the championship of the 2014 National Investment Simulation Competition for College Students

Jie-Yan Chang, Jie-Chiang Liu and their team from the Graduate Institute of Finance Department, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, won the championship of the 2014 National Investment Simulation Competition for College Students, held by National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology. Directed by Prof. Sang-Tsai Jie-Yan Chang and her team employed a bold but cautious investment strategy in simulating the decision-making in practice. After a month-long fierce competition, against more than 2,000 students from 90 colleges and universities, they defeated all the others and finally won the championship and a sum of NT$ 500,000 as their prize money.

Starting in November 2014, the intense competition lasted for a month, with a total of 1,475 teams as participants. The STUST team “Rushing Rabbit” went all the way through to the final, making a cumulative performance of 313.72% with great strategies and portfolios in their operation of stocks, futures, and options during the contest to win multiple profits. In the long run, they won the championship.
