Science and Technology: North Alumni Association of STUST was formally established in North Taiwan

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology recently established its North Alumni Association and held the inaugural meeting in Taipei. The school board directors Li-Tang Chang and Shin-Shung Chang, President Tai, Alumni Center Director Ding-Hong Chen and more than 100 alumni participated in this great event. Yao-De Wang was elected the first direct of North Alumni Association. The association was set up for the purpose of enhancing friendship and solidarity of alumni association, helping alumni develop their business or academic careers, and support the progress of STUST.

Yao-De Wang, Director of the North Alumni Association, stated in the inaugural meeting of the first session that after years of effort and struggling the Association was finally completed and would be ready soon to offer services to alumni in North Taiwan.

Li-Tang, Director as well as a founder of STUST, recalled its history at the inaugural meeting and encouraged all the alumni to bring glory and honor to STUST. Shin-Shung Chen, former STUST President and now a director, said that he was very grateful to all the alumni for their efforts in establishing the North Alumni Association over the past 10 years ago.

Wen-Long Chang, chairman of the National Federation of STUST Alumni said that he looked forward to continue alumni’s support to the school and that the alumni should help STUST the way STUST helped everyone. Ching-Shan Lin and Juan-Liang Chen, both directors of the National Federation of STUST Alumni, said that they have been long very grateful to STUST for her cultivation. They believed that, under the call of Director Yao-de Wang, alumni would have the opportunity to unite together and make great contributions to STUST and all the alumni.

Alumni Center Director Ding-Hong Chen said that the establishment of the North Alumni Association would be firmly connected with the Central and South Alumni Associations. Together they would be able to serve all the alumni in Taiwan. He also looked forward to the establishment of the STUST overseas alumni in the future. Bo-Ji Lai, student representative from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, made a tribute to the seniors for the efforts they have made over the decades since they left the school and for their spirits and cohesion that moved him a lot.
