enterprises and one great model for universities
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology celebrated the Lunar New Year
Cheers Magazine, which has just released its rankings of favored technical and vocational colleges, announced Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to be the favorite one for the 7th consecutive year for 2,000 large private enterprises. It also stands out of 114 Taiwan universities and colleges, among the 10 ones with the most remarkable progress. As the Lunar New Year is approaching, STUST is filled with great atmosphere. In order to help international students to experience Taiwan's traditional culture in celebrating the New Year, STUST organized the "International Students Embrace the New Year in Spring" activity on campus and created a warm reunion. President Tai gave thanks, with a film, to all 19,000 teachers and students for their hard work over the past year.

On February 12, Chinese Language Center and International and Cross-strait Affairs organized the "International Students Embrace the New Year in Spring" activity to introduce the origin and background of the Lunar New Year and the symbolic meanings of great words and proverbs used in Taiwan cultural festivals. They also arranged paper cutting activities for students to make Lunar New Year ornaments.

In addition, during the Lunar New Year, STUST would always do matchmaking for international students and host families. International students would be received by Taiwanese families during the Lunar New Year. They would experience a variety of activities, food tasting festivals, and family entertainments. The enthusiasm of host families will make international students mingle with people in Taiwan, bringing them the feeling of being home.
