2015 Tainan Technical and Vocational Expo made its debut.

2015 Technical and Vocational Expo in Tainan City was held April 16 to 17 at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The opening ceremony kicked off as students from Asian Hospitality College showed their superb performances in flair. The ceremony was hosted by Shiu-Ping Chen, Director of the Bureau of Education of Tainan City Government and President Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

Chen gave special thanks to the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and all the 37 vocational technical school involved in the Expo, which showed their enthusiastic responses to this exhibition activities and offered Tainan students the opportunity to experience and understand technical and vocational education. She hoped that through multiple learning and attempts, students could explore their interests, move towards their dreams, and find the right workplace.

Director Chen said that the Bureau of Education has been working hard to promote career development of vocational education, art education and adaptability counseling. It also provides students with opportunities to explore multivariate career. This has won the affirmation of the Ministry of Education, which awarded the Bureau for its suitability in offering counseling merit counties. Tainan is the best city for its success! To give students direct insight into the technical and vocational education system of Taiwan as well as their future workplaces and to provide students with the opportunity to explore different aptitudes and potential interests, the Bureau of Education particularly organized the fair and invited 37 local technical and vocational schools, showing 16 functional groups, practical skills and learning processes, double tracked training, cooperative education programs, achievement exhibits of art education in junior high schools, and other 78 stalls of exhibitions. It is indeed a great event of integrity and richness.

President Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology expressed special thanks to Tainan City Government for having organized such a technical and vocational fair with the university. It would help high school students a lot in allowing them to attend experiential learning activities and in enhancing the cooperation and interaction between the technical and vocational schools of Tainan city and schools of the neighboring counties. Such efforts would work to increase students’ willingness to attend local vocational schools, thereby reflecting the ideal of education adaptive development.
