2015 Solid Edge Design Contest:
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won twelve prizes in its brilliant performance

【Awards winners, participating teachers and students, and honorable guests in the 2015 Solid Edge Design Contest held in Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology】

Sponsored by Cade Technology Co. and organized by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, the 2015 Solid Edge Design Contest had teams from hundreds of groups of high school students and college all over the country. As a result, Yu-Hui Huang from Kangmin High School won first place of the high school group by her cute, superb 3D "LAMBY Dolls." The first place of college group was won by Li-Chung Yu from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology with his "Marble Superman in Phoenix Starship,” a work that demonstrates his outstanding skill and superb capability in drawing colorful graphics. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is the biggest winner, taking 12 of all the 13 awards and showing the students’ capabilities of drawing, design, and creative thinking.

June-Ming Chou, Deputy President of Engineering School, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that Cade Technology Co., Ltd. has been a long-standing cooperation in the best business school partner. As early as four years ago (2011), the company donated to schools more than twenty million sets of 3D professional computer-aided design software, and it has established an international certification center for schools as well. Over the past four years, Cade Technology has trained over CAD 2,000 people into professionals and coached more than 400 people in acquiring the computer Solid Edge licenses and international professional licenses for computer graphics CLA three-dimensional mapping.

Chi-Feng Yan, Assistant manager of Cade Technology, made a presentation for the Solid Edge computer-aided design software at the awarding ceremony, with a great speech about Solid Edge computer-aided design software specializing in 3D design drawings done, especially graphic rendering and animation techniques. He also showed how these can be applied to product design of exquisite quality and with extremely perfect results. Yan encouraged contestants to apply these graphic rendering and animation techniques into their design, which can greatly enhance the quality and results of their works.

Over a hundred teams of students from high schools and colleges all over the country joined the contest. As a result, three in each group were selected by experts and scholars. Yu-Hui Huang from Kangmin High School won first place of the high school group by her cute, superb 3D "LAMBY Dolls." Wen-Shi Tseng, from National Tseng-Wen Senior agriculture and Industrial Vocational High School, won the second with his agro-industrial robot doll in complex and yet beautiful colors. The third was Zhen-Yu Lin, also from National Tseng-Wen Senior agriculture and Industrial Vocational High School, with his shrimp baby as pencil tool that is fun but practical.

The first place of college group was won by Li-Chung Yu from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology with his "Marble Superman in Phoenix Starship,” a work that demonstrates his outstanding skill and superb capability in drawing colorful graphics. Shin-Cheng Huang won the second place with his "Multifunctional Wheelchair," with which he showed excellent design skills and structural integrity. The third place was Nien-Wen Chung, whose creative design presented a finely shaped "Duet of Stereo System and Headphones.”

Chi-Cheng Chang, Technical consultant of the Cade Technology said that the contest lasted about six months, focused on creative design, energy-saving design, and doll design in the "commodity" or "institution." It was hoped that the students could demonstrated design skills, design creativity and excellent computer graphics skills in the contest. Amazing designs were found throughout the contest. Witha number of entries, the players could present their creative and ingenuity, as well as their ideas of applying all those clever design to our daily life.
