Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won 11 prizes and the "Best
School Award" in the 2015 Visual Performance Grand Prix Competition organized by the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs

The 5th of May saw the awarding ceremony of the country's biggest digital design student competition, the 2015 Visual Performance Grand Prix Competition organized by the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won two gold, two silver, and two bronze, one preferable prize, four Corporate Sponsor awards. STUST was so proud to have become the biggest winner with the "Best School Award", along with all the appreciations and affirmations from all sectors.

This Grand Prix competition is divided into several categories: plane, animation, PC game, action game, interdisciplinary, mobile device software applications, mobile applications, etc. From 45 colleges and universities in Taiwan, approximately 1,000 entries competed for prize money of nearly 100,000 dollars.

The Department of Multimedia and Computer Science, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, has been a winner in game design competition. Its team made a great breakthrough in the Grand Prix Competition, with performances almost equal to those in line with industry standards. The six members worked closely in their teams “Oblivion Space Studio” and created their game "NuoJi Fantasy,” a game that combines martial arts and some legendary poison operation, allowing the player to experience a different game style and rhythm. Its art of amazing quality can take away the breath of every player. As a result, it won the three prizes: “PC Game Creation Group Award,” "IGS Game Award," and "Xpec Entertainment Game Creation Award.”

Another work “Night Town”—a mobile phone game—won the "Mobile Game Creation Group Award” and "Selected Xpec Entertainment Creative Art Award." Meanwhile, "The Story of Mislevilla” won a bronze medal in the category of "PC Game Creation Group." Meanwhile, the work “The Traveler" won the "Selected PC Game Creation Group" while then work "Cultivator” won the "Preferred Xpec Entertainment Game Creation” All these are great games with brilliant performances.

Animation competition is also very intense, where Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won two silver medals by "Beaver language" and "The Spiritual Father Returns," and a bronze award by "HerJa." It was not easy for these works to stand out of the 180 Entries in the animation group.

President Tai indicated that since the establishment of the School of Digital Design at STUST the school has been participating in domestic competitions and winning again and again, along with a myriad of patent technology transfers and cases of industry cooperation that shows substantial growth year after year. With all these brilliant results, STUST has won applause from all walks of life. The fact that STUST won a lot of prizes in the 2015 Grand Prix Competition showed that students of the School of Digital Design are great in both their teamwork and their ability to implement.
