Eagles soar for prospects: Chairman James Soong participatedin the 104 Graduation
Ceremony of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and showed his gratitude for nurturing talentfor the country

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held its 104 Graduation Ceremony on the 13th of June, with graduating students up to 4,686 in the morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. Chairman Gao-Hui Zheng, President Dai Qian, People First Party Chairman James Soong gave a full blessing to graduating students, hoping that they would make contribution to the society and the country. With the theme “Eagles soar for prospect,” the graduation ceremony presented an immersive flying eagle model to symbolizethe graduates as high-flying eagles with great aspirations.

People First Party Chairman James Soong was invited to attend the graduation ceremony in the morning session to give graduates a blessing and encouragement. He also showed thanks to all the teachers and parents, saying that everyone hasmake great contribution and has worked hard for the country in cultivating professional talents. Chairman Soong took "You Are Creating Taiwan's Reversal for the Fortune" as the theme of his speech. By citing the example of Singapore-round spring weather that leads to the laziness of bees there, Chairman Soongreminded the graduates that insectscould be indolent in such easy environment, let alone human beings. He thus encouraged the prospective young people to actively strive for a national revival.

He said thatyoung students could not have successfully completed their studieswithout their parents’ care and encouraged the graduates to work hard in the future with the word--"there is no shortcut; there is onlyeffort made step by step." He also encourage the graduates to work diligentlywith effort and dedicationand studyconscientiously with full vigor and vitality, thus creating their own sky for their wonderful life and living up to painstaking efforts of teachers and parents.

Principal Chien Tai thanked Chairman James Soong for his care for students and his attention to technical and vocational education system. He also said that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been founded for nearly 46 years, the school’s performance and development achievements have been highly appreciatedby the Ministry of Education, parents and the community as well. According to the surveyby Cheers magazine, STUSThas for seven consecutive years (2009-2015) been the favorite university by the best companies; moreover,it is among TOP 8 universities in the College Performance Assessment.Indeed, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has become one of the best universities in Taiwan.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technologyhas been very successful in promoting its internationalization.Currently internationalstudents come from more than 30 countries. This year, French student Emilyfrom the master program of Business and Administration College presented thanks on behalf of all the graduates.She showed thanks to the school for giving them the best learning environmentand to teachers for their company all the way for her growth here. In addition, graduate students Mong-Hwa Chun and Yen-Tsu Lin express their gratitudethrough sign language to the school and their teachers.The atmosphere was warm and touching, making graduates feeling reluctant to leave.
