Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the 2015
National College Sports Competition and won 2 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze, and other 5 prizes.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the 2015 College Sports Competition organized by the Ministry of Education. The team had outshone others from more than 60 teams in the competition, winning 2 golds, 2 silvers, 1 bronze, and other 5 prizes ranging from the 4th to the 7th. In Tennis, track and field, table tennis, and women's volleyball, the four teams had excellent performance; these sports teams will also fight in the national tournament to get and dedicate their outstanding achievements to the school.

President Lu had promised the athletes and players that the school would grant them great scholarships for their achievements. Such encouragement turned out to be very effective. The track and field team won one gold, two silvers, and one bronze, while the tennis team won 1 gold. The men's track and field team ranked the 3rd for their great overall performance. Women's volleyball team won the fourth in the general group; table tennis team won the fifth in group competition. This is the best performance that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has ever won in the National College Sports Competition.

Freshman student Prize money winner Min-Hui Zheng became the Prize money winner this year. He won the gold medal in men's 200 meters and the silver medal 400 meters. Track and field team coach Ting-Shao Hsu said that Zheng is a fighting man as well as a genius. As long as Zheng can maintain himself in such a great condition and avoid injury, he will be breaking records and continue to bring the school great honors.

Deputy President Lu, who used to be an athlete, encouraged all the team members to stick to positive enthusiasm and sportsmanship and asked them to stay law-abiding and disciplined rather than arrogant. Lu’s sharing of his personal experience also inspired the members to become tomorrow's "Light of Southern Taiwan University."
