100% energetic for teachers and students: Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology organized a road race as a physical fitness activity.

Physical Education Center and the Student Affairs Office of Southern Taiwan University of Science jointly organized the "Campus Road race for Healthy fitness and Against Smoking and Drugs" a few days ago, which started in front of STUST stadium. The road race, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, has been held twice a year since the 100th academic year. Thanks to the efforts of all the teachers of the Physical Education Center and promoted by the crew of Life Coaching Group responsible for "Echinacea Anti-drug Advocacy," the activity has helped a lot in boosting the daily energy and fitness of students and teachers as the number of participants keeps growing.

The campus road race was greatly welcomed by enthusiastic teachers and students as the number of applicants was not affected by the widespread dengue fever in Tainan. It went beyond the previous limits of 150 people. Led by Prof. Tsun-Ann Chen, all the teachers and students got fully warm-up and finished the race. Top 10 male and female runner were given prize money as both reward and encouragement. It is worth mentioning that the champion of male group, Dien-Lieu Chen has won his fifth title in a row. In addition, of five men and women participants were given coupons for 200 NT dollars each to encourage them for actively joined the race.

Prof. Ming-Hu Guo, Director of Physical Education Center, said that many students failed to catch up with the enrollment. In consideration of the number of participants, the center allowed participants to register via the Internet and by on-site registration. The convenience of this measure proved to have achieved the purpose of increase participation. After the presentation, all participating teachers and students and staffers took a lot of photos together to record their sportsmanship for having running all the way to the end. Everyone showed great expectation to participate in the second road race to be organized on Nov. 25.
