2015 International Symposium on Knowledge Economy and Globalization Management was held in Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology
The 2015 International Symposium on Knowledge Economy and Globalization Management was organized by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology on November 19 and 20, held at the International Conference Hall in Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Prof. Kun-Mu Tsai, Dean of the School of Management, National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, was invited to give a keynote speech in the opening. Academic leaders, well-known international scholars, and academic elite came from universities of a lot of countries, including Estonia, France, Portugal, Japan, Czech Republic, Canada, China and many other countries. Approximately 300 people attended this unprecedented gathering, a rare event for the business management and academic sphere in South Taiwan.

The symposium adopted an open call for papers; after examination, a total of 47 scholars were invited to publish their papers. The two-day agenda was divided into 10 discussion sessions, each on a different topic for in-depth discussion. This year topics for the General Assembly include financial markets and financial accounting, e-commerce and emerging business models of knowledge management and business education, social responsibility and business ethics for corporations, the trend of globalization, the information technology project management, economic development and international trade policy management, marketing and consumer behavior, hospitality and leisure business management, and human resources management. All the topics are relevant to the most important areas of business and management and academic research. Many scholars and graduate students came to attend the discussion over the two-day sessions.

President Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said at the opening ceremony that "knowledge economy" and "globalization" are currently the two most important global trends. The height of development of information technology not only has changed the model of development for various industries and competition patterns, but also has transformed all the knowledge and experience related to technology. Delivery of a variety of messages is no longer limited to national boundaries. In such a global trend, seeking international development is the only way to survive and win. Tai said that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has given the importance of international in recent years and has been actively enhancing the degree of internationalization on campus, in addition to the regular annual International Symposium held here and its sending graduate students and undergraduate students abroad to study at sister schools in the United States, Japan, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Spain and other European regions. STUST also offers training or studying for a double degree; at the same time, there have also been recruitments from over twenty different countries, with more than 200 international students at the school.

Prof. De-Guang Chou, Dean of Business School, STUST, said that this symposium has been held annually since 2004; each year the number of participants and contributors, as well as the papers received, continue to grow. It has become an annual academic conference in the field of business management in the southern region. With participation in the seminar, we not only can share international academic research in related fields of business management, but also acquire extensive exchange of views to get to know the future of collaborative research partners. It is indeed a very meaningful activity. Therefore, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology will continue to invest its resources to continuing, expanding, and deepening international academic exchange.
