Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology deepened its academic exchanges with Austria and expanded its reach in the international community
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with the well-known University of Innsbruck in "Taiwan- Austrian Technological and Vocational Higher Education Forum." The university in Austria became the 211th sister school of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Section as well as its second Austrian sister school. This is a new beginning of the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology in its cooperation with the Austrian universities. It is also a bridge between the two universities, which will help establish contact through the signing of a memorandum of cooperation. As the two schools officially declared sister school partnership, they will jointly make further academic exchanges, student exchanges, and other forms of cooperation. Through this bridge, technical and vocational education in Taiwan is expected to pass its characteristics to Austria and learn from the technical and vocational education of Austria, so as to promote cross-border personnel training and academic exchanges.

Presidents or CEOs and other representatives of 9higher academic institutes in Austria came to Taiwan to participate in "Taiwan- Austrian Technological and Vocational Higher Education Forum." In the forum, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has recently signed a memorandum of cooperation with University of Innsbruck. It was thus made effective by the signatures of both President Chien Tai and President Andreas Altmann of University of Innsbruck. As Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been actively promoting internationalization, the two schools will work together to foster transnational outstanding technical talents. Based on the "academic exchange memo" which the two universities have signed, the establishment of close cooperation between the two universities can be highly expected for the future, especially for Engineering School and Business School. They will have close cooperation and exchanges in relevant areas, the implementation of learning in use, and enhancement of students' global mobile force.

President Chien Tai said that, in addition to providing a more diverse student studying options, this agreement can enable the two universities to offer more opportunities for international cooperation in the implementation of joint research projects and seminars, which can benefit both teachers and students in the face of the international competitive trends and globalization. The goal of STUST is to become the best partner for industrial cooperation, so personnel’s training is one of the most important missions to reach. Another is to promote inter-institution personnel training by expanding the alliance with Austria, deepen research and international linkages, and effectively use manpower, space and facilities and academic resources to jointly promote multifaceted cooperation programs.
