Cultural experience with spring rolls and Taiwanese tea ceremony: Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology University led Eismowe University to experience Taiwanese culture
In order to promote international academic exchanges, 11 teachers and students from Eismowe University in Japan visited Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Students came to make reports in both the Chinese and Japanese, not only sharing ideas and making international exchange, but also experiencing such activities as making spring rolls and taking Taiwanese tea ceremony for a day trip. Students from the two universities enhanced their mutual understanding and teach each other about their languages. It is greatly hoped that through these exchanges, teachers and students of the two universities will have a better understanding, and the future will see the two universities making more extensive exchanges.

Ever since STUST and Eismowe University became sister schools in 2003, they have been diversely and passionately engaged in exchange activities through student exchange, researchers visits, summer study groups, intensive programs organized by teachers, etc. Up to now, 50 students have been sent by STUST to Eismowe University for short-term study while Eismowe University has also sent 18 students to STUST to study. More than 30 students have attended the Chinese culture camp organized STUST.

According to Mei Ling Ko, Chairperson of the Department of Leisure and Recreation, STUST has for many years been committed to promoting international exchanges, having a total of 128 contracts signed with sister schools overseas worldwide, including a total of 30 sister schools in Japan. With Eismowe University, STUST has the most profound friendship. Through this visit, there will be more exchanges of students and teachers between the two schools; it is particularly desirable that
Eismowe University will send more students to Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. During the visit, the Japanese teachers and students were warmly welcomed, brought to see the campus of STUST and enact exchanges between the two universities in terms of educational concepts.
