Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won acclaim for its academic
research, given three awards and named by the National Library as "Taiwan's Most
Influential Academic Resources"

"Taiwan's Most Influential Academic Resources," a rating jointly organized by the National Library, the Ministry of Education, and the National Union of Taiwan Online Dissertations and Theses on the basis of "Taiwan Humanities and Social Science Citation Index System" and “Taiwan Dissertation Knowledge VAT System," selected colleges and universities for seven awards. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was given the three awards, namely, "Taiwan's Most Influential Academic Resources," "Best Scholarly Communication Award" in the 2014th full academic year for owning a maximum number of authorized electronic technology (4th place); "Knowledge Sharing Award I" for offering the highest number of electronic full text for download in the 2015 academic year (No. 5), and "Knowledge Sharing Award I" for offering the highest number of electronic full text for download in the 2015 academic year (No. 5), "Knowledge Sharing Award II" for offering the highest number of electronic full text for download in the 2015 academic year (No. 3). Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has made great efforts in academic research and is now much praised and considered one of Taiwan's most influential academic resources.

"Best Scholarly Communication Award" was given to Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology for its offering of a maximum number of authorized full-text electronic; "Knowledge Sharing Award" means the largest number of full electronic text for download. It was not easy for Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to stand out won three awards in these two categories. Deputy Director of Lifelong Education Department and Director of the National Library came to ceremony on behalf of the Ministry of Education.

National Library held press conference for "Taiwan's Most Influential Academic Resources" to give 7 awards, including “The Most Influential People Club Journal Award," "Best Choice Award of Academic Journals," "Award for the Best Scholarly Communication,” "Best Collection Academic Award, ""Award for Best Academic Exposure," "Knowledge Sharing Award, " and "Academic Impact Award." Several private and public universities and colleges and academic journals publishing units were given recognition for their efforts and performances.

President Tai of Southern Taiwan University and Technology said, Southern Taiwan University has worked hard to promote national outstanding dissertation, sparing no effort not only in terms of university dissertations deposit (100%) but also on advocating the concept of authorized full paper. STUST has worked together with the National Library for 7 years in holding “Intercollegiate outstanding dissertation authorization and presentation." According to the “2013 Taiwan electronic dissertations" National Library Statistics, the national colleges and universities totaled 156, of which 113 went beyond 70% in terms of full-text dissertations electronic deposit. The statistical results of the 2014 academic year showed considerable results.
