Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is now promoting productivity
4.0 as its new program

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the press conference of" Southwest Taiwan Productivity 4.0 Personnel Training Strategic Alliance, organized by the Southwest Taiwan Branch of Workforce Development Agency, the Ministry of Labor, with the aim to assist in the Southwest region and industry to promote the development of productivity 4.0, into manufacturing intelligence and wisdom in services. With a combination of industry, government, academia, research, and a variety of service resources, STUST set up Productivity 4.0 Talent Training Strategic Alliance. The Extended Education Department of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology also actively offers programs for productivity 4.0, including courses related automation and control, intelligence operations, intelligence, logistics, retail, and agriculture. The future will see its cooperation with Southwest Taiwan Productivity 4.0 Personnel Training Strategic Alliance, sharing its productivity 4.0 resources with industries in southwest Taiwan, with 3D printing practices and innovative mode of operation of the intelligence network system design, automation, intelligent robots, Big Data analysis, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and other training programs. It is hoped that STUTS can help fulfill the promise of powering related industries and make a contribution to Southwest Taiwan.

【Press conference of the Southwest Productivity 4.0 Training of Personnel Strategic Alliance: VIPs and executives】

In recent years, Innolux Technology has been vigorously promoting production automation and committed to industry-university cooperation, sparing no effort on nurturing talent in automation. In 2013, Innolux and STUST signed a memorandum of cooperation, beginning their partnership to promote internships and learning process automation. Innolux also donated automation equipment to STUST to facilitate and the construction of Automation P training Center. The early collaboration focused on the so-called “Early Bird Internship” program, for which Innolux executives went to STUST to interview senior students for intern practice. There were two types of internships in 2013, with a total of 26 students working for 6 months and 12 months, respectively. During the internship, each student was given NT$ 28,000 per month as internship allowance. After the internship, 80% of the students were approved of re-appointment qualifications after an assessment, working as automation associate engineers with a two-year contract than brought them a starting salary of NT$ 37,000 per month. In 2014, there were 35 students enrolled and started to work when they became seniors for an off-campus internship.

As for how to apply the technology of Productivity 4.0 to developing sophisticated productivity in agriculture, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Biotechnology, Department of Information Engineering, and Department of Biological Technology developed an interdisciplinary platform for raising mushroom and a research team to follow individual customer needs, choose a custom shape mushroom, and establish on-demand services; now they also integrate big data and cloud networking to establish information, forecast to produce different shapes of mushrooms, and employ future productivity 4.0 technology. Through analysis and optimization of integrated intelligent monitoring, they can apply the technology to precision farming and turn it into a representative sector in agriculture. With the integration of resources and personnel training assistance, the press conference this time provided industrial quality talent and technical support to enhance industrial competitiveness and international competitiveness, thereby establishing multiple partnerships.
