【Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won the first place of the 2015 Excellent Electronic Teaching: De-Guang Chou, Dean of STUST School of Business and Management (right), received the award.】

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has made great efforts to promote electronic teaching and was rated by China Enterprise Resource Planning Institute as the best university. STUST was openly awarded in the institue’s annual conference, which was held along with the 2016 International Academic and Practical Seminar of Big Data and ERP. De-Guang Chou, Dean of STUST School of Business and Management, received the public recognition on behalf of President Chien Tai. In addition, Department of Accounting Information, Department of Information Management, Department of Business Administration, and Department of Management and Information Technology were also awarded Excellent Teaching Awards. The overall excellence of STUST became the focus of public attention in the conference.

Zhou Deguang president said that as the industry is very competitive, companies must keep a close eye on the pulse of the market and get ready to make necessary adjustments in resource planning. Further, he said that whether a business can effectively use the latest modern information technology and enterprise resource planning system (ERP system) is becoming a key factor for its competitiveness. Southern Taiwan University of Science has dedicated to education and promotion of ERP since as early as ten years ago. ERP encourages not only students to obtain licenses to promote ERP practice but also teachers to be engaged in efforts related to the ERP industry-university cooperation, and further results of the University-Industry Cooperation back to teaching. Not only have students and businesses benefited from this, teachers have but also successfully acquired upgrading in skills from ERP Industry cooperation.

In recent years, STUST has won a great number of prizes and awards related to ERP related areas. While these national awards brought STUST public recognition, STUST has employed ERP to create a considerable internship and employment opportunities for students and graduates. This year, STUST won the first prize given by China Enterprise Resource Planning Society. It is true that STUST deserves such a national honor. Currently, STUST is not only promoting the manufacturing ERP system, but also have introduced specialized ones for logistics and delivery, hotel management, catering services. STUST hopes to continue, expand, and deepen the areas of ERP and related applications with industry-university cooperation, thereby enhancing the market competitiveness of STUST students after graduation.
