To create a smart IoT, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology invited
"Professor Cloud" from Acer to offer a different course.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Acer Co., Ltd. jointly held the "Professor Cloud" Achievement Exhibition as well as a news conference at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The Acer team was directed by President Shao-Hua Huang and General Manager Ding-Kai Wang, along with Acer Self-Built Cloud Tech-Marketing Department. In the exhibition, there were live shows from "Professor Cloud" extension of product applications, including unmanned designed vehicles, robotic arms, etc. The atmosphere was fun and novel enough to draw all the audience's attention. "Professor Cloud" is target at education, coupled with educational site design, to produce many interesting courses to form guidance for teachers and chairmen to use "Professor Cloud" system design tutorial. In the future, for students in the classroom, it can also be practically employed to create a robot arm or to design a car.

"Professor Cloud" is an IoT teaching module jointly developed by Prof. Jia-Hui Feng and Prof. Kun Ouyang from the Department of Innovation Product Design. As a result of their efforts, "Professor Cloud" found its basis in cooperation with the industry-university joint development and design of Acer's Acer IoT. Made from cross-border research the education field, it fully employs LED light bulb, a fan, a sensing device, a control module, and phone module to write simple codes. Even students who do not understand program coding can be creative with their own unique thinking. President Chien Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said: Thanks Acer for its affirmation of STUST technology research. Working together helps STUST create "Professor Cloud" products with educational purposes and obtain high evaluation from the international community. In the future, STUST will actively import “Professor Cloud” courses to help students develop their strength.

President Shao-Hua Huang of Acer said, through the cooperation with STUST this time, he has found not only that STUST has great knowledge and strength in R & D, but also that President Tai put enormous stress on industrial linking and implementation of industry-university cooperation policy. It is a great that STUST can have full implementation in applying their knowledge to making academic development into energy for industry development.

In 1981, Acer introduced "Little Professor" as an educational tool into the growth of Taiwan's information industry. In 2016, the program has been developed into physical interconnection with the cloud by way of "Professor Cloud." In addition to effectively nurturing a new generation of information personnel, it has but also successfully reduced the entry threshold of programming, so that interested people can also find it simple to use and thereby implement their ideas. In 2015, "Professor Cloud" debuted at Consumer Electronics Show in Berlin (IFA). This breakthrough in IoT education meant the removal of barriers between people and technology and immediately attracted the attention of international media. The follow-up also received a very high rating in many international exhibitions. The 2016 "Professor Cloud" was also chosen finalists Mobile World Congress (MWC) Best Action Education Innovation Award (Best Mobile Innovation for Education). It has become the first nominated Taiwan brand and successfully found its position in the world.
