Global Brand Planning Competition and won the representation of Taiwan to Singapore to participate in the global finals.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the 2016 Global Brand Planning Competition, organized by the Business Management Education Innovation Center of Feng Chia University and Chinese International Economic and Trade Research Institute. The two STUST teams—"Like design, More DI sign" and "Magtonic"—stood out from among 20 universities, including National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University, Chunghsin University, and Taiwan University of Science and Technology, winning the representation of Taiwan in the global finals. The two teams will go to Marketing Institute of Singapore to participate in the global finals on the 12the of June.

"Like design, More DI sign" team, which won the access to the global finals as a representative of Taiwan, is directed by Prof. Nan-Shan Jane and Prof. Shu-Fang Ding from the Department of Business Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The team members are all graduate students of the Institute of Business Management—Yu-Zhi Chen, Yi-Feng Chen, Cheng-Chen Chi, Shuan-Shuan Shao, and Hon-Gan Wang—in cooperation with Taiwan Lung Meng Technology Co., Ltd. As an original technology, the team uses stones (calcium carbonate) as the primary raw material for their multi-purpose paper. It is the team's hope that, through the design, they can achieve the purpose of reducing natural resource depletion. "Guardian," "innovation “and “masterpiece" are the three core concepts that they apply to promoting the plan, not only to reduce the loss of forest resources but also to make use of waste. Their briefing was clear and concise, winning all the judges’ favor.

Another access to the global finals was won by "Magtonic 'team, which is directed by Prof. Wei-Jen Yang of the Department of International Business and Prof. Jia-Jun Lin of College of Digital Design, in cooperation with Tonic Fitness Technology Inc. "Magtonic" team presented the new product "V-bell" in the contest. The team—Hao-Lun Lee, Tsai-Shun Cheng, Hui-Ying Chen, Yi-Chi Lai, and Ji-Jia Liu—participated in the actual experience of the marketing process through vendor access and information search, internalizing the related professional knowledge and promoting the cardio-fitness equipment "V-bell.” In planning for the new product "V-bell" to enter the market, the team used "three-tier brand awareness" to deepen customer recognition and brand awareness and increase customer loyalty for the brand.

In the global competition, it is an important part of international marketing to promote local brands, disseminate its name, and effectively convey the brand philosophy, culture, and image. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been committed to development programs and industry practices combined with global brand strategy, which were shown in the competition with the two teams getting into the global finals. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology expects "Magtonic" and "Like design, More DI sign" to be able to be shining internationally, so as to make the two high-quality companies and Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology step onto the world stage for global applause.
