College of Digital Design, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology
won a total of seven awards in the 2016 Youth Design Festival

In the 2016 Youth Design Festival Exhibition and Creative Design Competition in Kaohsiung,, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology team won seven awards—gold, silver, copper, preferred and special awards—from among many national schools. The Department of Creative Product Design brought out their work "Pick-up Art" to win gold medal in the Three-D Modeling and Product design Category.

Student works from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology mainly involved in Three-Dimensional Modeling and Product Design Category, Interactive Technology and Game Design, and Youth Animation Film Festival. Prof. Yu-Fen Luo guided her students in creating their work "Pickup Art" and inspired them by modern Taiwan eating environment, with the main items including tables, chairs, chandeliers and table utensils and tea. Their work matches both environmentally conscious product design and practical uses. They won the judges’ unanimous favor in the Three-Dimensional Modeling and Product Design Category. Prof. Chen-Shun Tsai of the Department of Multimedia and Computer Entertainment Science guided the team "Macrophages" in the design. With the beautiful graphic atmosphere and fun gameplay, they allowed the player to play the game with enjoyable features on mobile devices. Their interactive technology won a silver medal in the Game Design Category.

In addition to its practical action and encouragement for students to participate in extracurricular activities and contests, STUST anchors the focus of its curriculum on a combination of design, technology, culture and art connotation, training domestic professionals in digital design, developing their pragmatic attitudes, and strengthening the training with partnership with the industry.

Youth Design Festival is an important design competition in southern Taiwan, primarily for young creative students. Every year it attracts hundreds of schools, colleges and more than one hundred thousand entries. By joining the competition, young people can have the opportunity to show themselves through the creation of a public event that allows domestic industries to explore good creative themes and talent. The College of Digital Design had a lot of winning works, including “Pickup Art," Marble audio / Mix of New Age - Marble Speaker(which won the silver medal in the Three-Dimensional Modeling and Product Design Category), "Macrophages" (which won the silver medal in the Interactive Technology and Game Design Category. Other winning works included "CURIOUS CUBE," "Woman having Coffee," and "Northern Europe life."
