Technology, won the Excellence Award in college group in the 2016 National Creative APP Project Contest.

Department of Information Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, participated in the 2016 National Creative APP Project Contest, organized by Ling Tung University and sponsored by the Ministry of Education. After the intense contests, STUST stood out in a number of college teams, heading all the way to the final and winning the Excellence Award in college group.

The team of the Department of Information Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, was directed by Prof. Ren-Peng Huang. Given that the list of finalists was announced as late as seven days before the final, all the participating students put all their efforts into preparing the data for the final. Finally, the judges favored their performance and gave them the Excellence Award of college group. The 2016 National Creative APP Contest aimed to enhance the ability of domestic high school students and college students to manage ICT software innovation. It also stimulated the creativity in teachers and students of vocational high schools and colleges and encouraged their thinking and capacity for implementation. During the contest, the key to winning is to fully demonstrate the outcome of what they have learn and showing the thematic characteristics of their projects. Through repeated oral practice, team members became able to render the best of them on the stage to the judges. When the final results were reported, the STUST team won the judges’ favor as well as the Excellence Award of the college group.

The Department of Information Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, has bred a great number of senior management and technical personnel with brilliant capabilities in both information technology and information management. The department has shown a great integration of teaching, equipment and curriculum planning focused on practical experience and ability in terms of planning, management and development of information systems. Graduates would have excellent information application and management capabilities to boost enterprise information integration or cross-sectoral multi-specialty, such as programming languages, website development, and information management.
