The first Beijing and Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2016:
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won the second place and got a ticket to the Grand Final in Beijing.

The first Beijing and Taiwan Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition in 2016, jointly organized by the Taiwan Business Beijing Vision Technology Incubator Co., Vision Technology, Co. Ltd, Beijing Association of Taiwan Capital, Beijing Venture Corp. and China Association of Incubation attracted more than 200 teams in Taiwan. As a result, there are 28 team allowed to participate in the semi-finals. The team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was directed by professors from Mechanical Engineering Department, Electronic Engineering Department, and the Department of Business Administration, with their work "iTape Logistics Real-time Monitoring and Management System" winning all the way through the preliminaries to the semi-finals. They won the second place and got a ticket to the Grand Final in Beijing

"iTape Logistics Real-time Monitoring and Management System" can help the logistics industry to reduce the damage to the goods during the delivery of goods and the rate of loss; it can also instantly detect any collision of the goods and any improper packaging tape during delivery process. In addition, the system mainly consists of iTape intelligent tape, automotive machine/ ZigBee gateways, and an online information platform of three parts. The iTape intelligent tape embedded with piezoelectric film sensor RF circuits can instantly detect pressure and side tension on the tape, and instantly pull over to the side of abnormal pressure to the mounting posts on the freight car through ZigBee wireless transmission of car or through ZigBee gateway devices. Vehicle device / ZigBee gateway receives the abnormal pressure and tension side posts permeable for 3G / 4G network over the Internet to pass information to the online information platform.

It can further expand creativity and exchange benefits and help them establish partnerships with other research institutes or industries. In recent years, the rise of e-commerce in countries all over the world has indirectly promote the vigorous development of the logistics industry. However, as e-commerce has been increasingly expanding people’s demand, market competition of the logistics industry is also becoming increasingly fierce. Service quality and operating costs related to factors in logistics have great impact in ensuring the integrity and timeliness of goods delivery process; therefore, how to reduce the rate of loss and damage to goods is now the key to further enhanceing its market competitiveness
