Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the graduation ceremony
for the Third 3 + 1 Special Class for Shiamen College of Science and Technology.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the graduation ceremony for the Third 3 + 1 Automotive Special Class for Shiamen College of Science and Technology. There are a total of 38 students in the class, who held their achievement exhibition in the first floor of the Energy Engineering Hall in the V Building. They showed their application of the theoretical knowledge that they have learned over the past year. They utilized the SCM program control, mechanical design, computer-aided drawing, and basic machining skills. Yiu Fang, Assistant to the President of Shiamen Institute of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, led a delegation to the ceremony. Through the graduation ceremony of the special classes organized, SUST showed the results of cross-strait academic exchanges and cooperation in education, not only to promote cross-strait exchanges of students, but also to draw closer and more extended their vision.

The third 3 + 1 Special Class for Shiamen Technical School was launched as an automotive special classes formed in September last year from the group led by Yi Chang, Deputy Director of Shiamen Technical School, with a total of 38 students coming to Taiwan, when they began their lives in STUST for studying and learning the local culture experience. The project was mainly commissioned by the Department of Cars & Transportation Engineering and the Department of Mechanical Engineering, of Shiamen Technical School. The courses included mechanical design, motor control, motor mechanical principle, SCM curriculum design, the sensing element the substantive content of the motion control, automatic transmission theory and practice, automotive electronics practice, and automotive electrical and electronic technology. During the study period, in addition to receiving the formal school curriculum, technical subjects, and implementation skill training, there are also the industry-related lectures, field trips, cultural visits, and many other activities.

In terms of life experience, students of the special class actively participated in the trip to Green Island in Taitung for three days and two nights; the event was organized by the Student Affairs Office of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The students traveled all over Taiwan, including Yilan, Taipei, Taitung, Kenting, Ali Mountain, Liou Chiou, and many other popular attractions; they have also been invited by OPTION Modified Car News to Da Peng Bay in Pingtung to watch the OTGP National Elite Cup Grand Prix—a world-class racing. In addition, they also participated in the National Smart Robot Contest, showing their great achievement in learning. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been holding Southern Taiwan Automobile Exhibition more than 25 years," which always attracts a lot of people every year and which has become an annual event in southern Taiwan. Participants can learn when personally involved such a rare occasion; this adds a lot of memories to students when they are living in Taiwan. This project provides a wide range of access for students from Shiamen Technical School to professional learning and rich experience local culture in Taiwan.

The 3 + 1 special class in this joint cooperation is not aimed only to enhance the students' international perspective, but also to elevate the competitiveness of each other. Students can expect a more diversified environment, not just courses with diversification; it should allow their logical thinking to be simultaneously diversified. The original program was only for 3 years of automotive electronics and classes; the resumed signing of the second phase became a 3 + 1 joint cooperation program. The advanced automobile class has been the focus of the development of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. The automobile exhibition is a major feature, from which students can learn such skills as marketing and after-sales service. It was therefore entrusted by Shiamen College of Science and Technology and again commissioned to open classes for car service, professor marketing and after-sales service, and other skills. Through quality teachers and improved teaching facilities, the classes enhance students' self-quality and promote exchanges and cooperation between academia and industry, so that cross-strait cultural exchanges can go further and continue to upgrade.
