Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held a grand opening for the
Fifth "Summer Business/Chinese Study Program of the XII Paris University, France.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the University held a grand opening for the Fifth "Summer Business/Chinese Study Program of the XII Paris University, France, a sister school, on the 5th of July, officially opening the training. This is the fifth year for the study group. Over the past four years, a total of 65 participants have come to Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to join the program, which have been co-organized by the College of Business and Management and the Chinese Learning Center, to study business and experience the Chinese culture in Taiwan. This year, 33 students came to participate in the eight-week program.

President Chien Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology welcomed all the participants on behalf of all the teachers and students here. As President Tai said, ever since Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the XII University of Paris, France concluded in 2010 as sister schools, teachers and students of both universities have had frequent exchanges. They have signed a double degree agreement and free tuition student exchange agreements. Students have been greatly encouraged to pursue a degree by way of the schools’ exchange study. President Tai also encouraged all the students to learn Chinese and form an in-depth understanding of the history and culture of Tainan. As Tainan is particularly renowned for its international specialties, he encouraged the French students to acquire all kinds of experiences here.

In the previous years, the participating students of the summer study were quite satisfactory with their cultural visit tour to Kenting. They were particularly fond of Taiwan's traditional snacks. Thus, the Chinese Language Center arranged professional Chinese courses to help students obtain licenses outside the Chinese while organizing a rich cultural program, allowing students to fully experience the beauty of Taiwan's unique culture and tradition of the art. In addition, Chinese Language Center also organized four visiting tours for them. Along with the students' favorite trip to Kenting, there were trips to difference places, including Tainan, Kaohsiung and Chiayi. These trips let students step into the practical parts of Taiwan to understand the beauty of Taiwan in each different place.
