The science volunteer services team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and
Technology moved into the rural areas of Tainan for the 2016 Maddening Force Science Camp.

To promote science education and have it rooted in Taiwan, the science volunteer services team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, sponsored by fund of Science Locomotive Plan by the Ministry of Science, recently held the two-day 2016 Maddening Force Science Camp in Chiku, Tainan.

"2016 mad force Science Summer Camp. Through their service-learning approach, they offered their teaching and counseling to a lot of elementary schools, including Hougang, Chiali, Jinchiu, and many others; their service even covered as many as one hundred children in the nearby villages. Chiku used to be a salt production area of Taiwan in the past; salt production was also the main means of their livelihood. Even though the changing time has changed their lifestyles, the special nature of geography and climate there has never changed. The teachers and volunteers combined local winds the concept of mechanics, applying it to the promotion of scientific education in life.

The summer camp started with experiencing the somatosensory exhibition opened in Science and Industry Museum. Through science courses for real, students worked on environmentally friendly torque cars powered by air balloon and propulsion powered cars. All the activities were designed and arranged to be done by the primary school students, based on scientific theories that could be understood by them in terms of practical operation, observation, and creation. Through the "learning to do, learning by doing" approach, they could feel the fun of learning about science and understanding the sciences in life. In addition, with digital applications of vehicles, students were fully absorbed in a virtual sea of digital books.
