Students Union of Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the "Cross-strait Youth Trip to Fujian" to expand cultural exchanges and realized their dreams
Meng-Wei Chen and Li-Jun Liu from the Student Union of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in "Cross-strait Youth Trip to Fujian." The event aimed to promote cross-strait exchanges of young college students-- 150 from Taiwan and 150 from the China--who would communicate with each other to enhance friendship through the nine day visit.

The event has been held for a period of the third year. This year it was held in Fuzhou, which is very close to Taiwan in terms of geographical proximity and cultural similarities. It would help in the future to build more communication platforms and cultural bridges. Wei Ding, Vice Minister of China Ministry of Culture and Chinese Cultural Association President, said that since this event was held for the first time in 2014, it has become a cross-strait youth exchanges, an important platform for the promotion of friendship. It is hoped that activity can enhance the understanding of Taiwan's youth for the culture and tradition of Chinese in Mainland China, as well as the development of modern society there, so that young people on both sides can have better ties and more closely linked.

In addition to visiting local cultural activities, the cross-strait youth discussion with each and share the entrepreneurial experience by Taiwan youth to the mainland. All the participating students seriously took notes and asked representatives from both sides after a discussion to present the results, allowing the cross-strait youth to have exchanges and learn from each other.

The closing ceremony was held in Fuzhou, where all the young people, divided into A, B, C, D, E groups, had brilliant performances. Among them, group B showed Taiwan Aboriginal dance and Taiwan's unique culture, while group D showed their martial art in the first half and cheerleading dance performances in the second half, accompanied by the music that the mainland youth played, together creating an unprecedented performances. Once again, they demonstrated great results fro the cross-strait cultural exchanges between young people on both sides.
