Department of Pop Music Industry of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to participate in the 2016 Young Songs Contest: the band “Time Travel” was nominated for their song "Casual Collage."

"Time Travel,” a band from the Department of Pop Music Industry, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, which is Taiwan's first department of pop music industry, was nominated in the 2016 Young Songs Contest. A total of 49 works were registered and evaluated by professional music teacher, for with the final selection of six bands. The band "Time Travel" was selected for their work "Causal Collage” to the list of the finalists. They are entitled to join the live performance in the Moonlight Theater of LIVE WAREHOUSE in Kaohsiung, where the Young Songs Concert will show on the road. They will be performing with such famous bands as "Eighty-Eight Ballet Seeds" and "One Step.” In addition, we will also be able to record the their song with other finalists and receive NT $ 20,000 as their bonus.

The band "Time Travel" was composed of students from the Department of Popular Music Industries, All the members took part in the creation of their works. From the creative process to the recording operation, the band used the school's latest equipment and completed the entire work single-handedly. Band Leader Da-Peng Chu said that the concept was based on the creation of a sense of space and time in their works. It was the main theme of their creative works, and the concept of time traveling was also adopted as the concept of fusion of various musical styles. In each song, listeners can feel different scenes, different times, and different styles.

On the performance day, each group had 15 minutes. In such a rare event, all the bands, by all means, performed their songs with their own creative performance in place, so the audience could hear not only the selected songs but also the band's other excellent works, which brought the audience a great fiery atmosphere and allow each band to do their publicity work and increase their performance experience. During the live performance, “Time Travel,” in addition to their nominated song— "Casual Collage"—also perform their new work "Magic Forest." This song was originally intended to bring out a mood that coincides with the sky and the beauty of light fusion on that day, as if the audience would really get into a time travel.
