ITape R & D team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology beat 686 teams and won second place in the 5th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and the Third Cross-Straits and Four Cities University Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
The Interdisciplinary iTape R & D team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, jointly directed by Prof. Wan-Rong Chang and Prof. Da-Hui Li from the Department of Electronic Engineering and Prof. Chen-Shin Chuang from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Prof. Zong-Yue Tsai from the Department of Enterprise Management won the second place in the 5th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and the Third Cross-Straits and Four Cities University Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, in which there were a total of 686 teams—366 teams from China, 264 Teams from Taiwan, 56 teams from Hong Kong and Macao—were focused on the Internet, the mobile Internet, electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, cultural and creative, bio-medicine, and other fields. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, featuring its "iTape logistics and distribution of real-time monitoring and management system," went all the way through the preliminary, semi-finals, semi-finals before they stood out in the final five and won the second place, together with a sum of 400,000 prize money.

Over the development of increasingly intelligent and mature logistics, the logistics industry has been focused on how to use mobile devices, the Internet of things sensing technology, and data analysis platform, with the purpose to enhance asset management, service allocation, and delivery route planning capabilities and to significantly reduce operating costs and accelerate into an intelligent new logistics model. With the flow of transport vehicles running everywhere, damage and loss rate of goods is getting higher and higher. This work employs the sensing technology of IoT, its applications in business will certainly help logistics industry enhance its asset management efficiency and enhance its service quality. In addition, this work fully masters the application of the key technologies of soft membrane sensing technology. The future will see how iTape smart tape, in addition to its application in logistics industry, be extended to other applications, such as commodity storage management, packaging management of confidential items, and canned dangerous liquid products Management, etc.
