Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the 7th innovation &
Entrepreneurship Competition & IQ Space Achievement Exhibition: STUST turned up
the triple creative education, making students graduate with their own companies.

In order to create a campus environment with high-quality entrepreneurship and promote opportunities for students' employment and entrepreneurship, a total of 150 groups of teachers and students were invited to participate in the the 7th innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition & IQ Space Achievement Exhibition on the 25th of December. The 15 teams of finalists included more than 700 participants. In response to industry demands, the competition was oriented by NEXCOM International Co., Ltd, Soundnet Co., Ltd. and B16 tccservice platform, and the topics included software development, APP and electronic business platform for students across departments with team cooperation to stimulate students to propose innovative solutions and programs to bridge the gap between theory and practice. It also allowed the participating teams to accumulate energy for innovation, creativity, entrepreneurial development.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been working on the creation of a high-quality entrepreneurial campus environment to promote employment opportunities for students and entrepreneurship. It offers a perfect resource and counseling mechanism to provide a one-stop service in breeding the triple creative education. The STUST IQ Space is a common work space for the cultivation and deepening of the entrepreneurial team; for incubation, it has three training rooms: STUST Innovation and Incubation Center, STUST Incubation Art Center, and Southern Taiwan Industrial Incubation Center, which aim at counseling new business and cultural and integrating the creative industries in Tainan Industrial Park—with focus on B16 business platform for the development of Tainan in arts and cultural industries. In addition, it has established a perfect system for breeding and post-breeding among the colleges and universities in South Taiwan, linking schools and resources with local industries and providing a world-class incubation and nurturing environment for the domestic new industries and enlivening the pioneering ecological environment in South Taiwan.

The triple creative education has been promoting courses for innovative creative practice, working on the commercialization of creative products. It has been combined with STUST Creative Design Workshop, completing its prototype development. Since 2015, it has had 200 works, with the annual number of awards at home and abroad up to 45 pieces. Quality teams can apply for free business funds; since 2015 years, the center has issued up to NT$ 960,000 venture capital fund to a total of 20 teams to help them start their entrepreneurial ideas. Teams with the potential to enter the IQ Space incubation via its counseling mechanism can help students finally graduate with their own companies.

IQ Space provides pre-bred energy and integrates cross-school resources to help entrepreneurs prepare for the formal establishment of the company. Since its establishment in the fourth quarter of 2014 year, IQ Space has been put into the school's resources and has helped establish 10 companies. It has worked with cross-school teams to promote youth entrepreneurship and give other schools team-related entrepreneurial counseling and resources, assisting the large-scale development of intelligent mobile health care system in winning 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal, and 2 special awards in the 2015 and 2016 International Invention Exhibitions in Korea, Thailand, and Malaysia.

This year, the IQ Space team showed great achievements, with 4 teams passing the U start competition; the one which comes from NCKU won a total of NT$ 2 million. Two teams won the 2015 Innovation Entrepreneurship Incentive Program-- Entrepreneurial Potential Award, with NT$ 2 million and NT$ 550,000, respectively. In October 2016, it was awarded a prize money of $ 20,000 by the Ministry of Science and Technology (TIEC). In October 2005, it started to work Angel Funds in Silicon Valley. In November 2016, it won NT$ 10 million from the research seedling project of TIEC.

In addition, STUST’s iTape's logistics and real-time monitoring and management system won the 2nd place in the 2016 Inter-collegial Information Application Service Innovation Contest - R & D Results Budding Group. In the 5th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for College Students in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and China, STUST also won the 2nd place.

From the beginning of its triple education, IQ Space has been working hard on providing timely counseling to entrepreneur resources from technology to capital; it even provides one-stop service market integration, taking it as its main goal to help start-up teams and nurture them with new technological ideas.
