Yi-Chang Tsai, Deputy Director of the Institute of Digital Education, said that VR / AR industry has recently seen a strong rise in the demand for talent. If we cannot keep up with the pace and train people to quickly put into industry, the development of this industry could lag behind in terms of both speed and energy. In view of this, the institute has begun its cooperation with Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology in building its VR / AR Talent Incubation Center in South Taiwan. It is an act not only to balance the north and south in resources, but also to, through the hard work, create local innovation industry and provide training for students working on VR / AR or film and television. The recent strong guidance by the institute is aimed at “Green Island" VR interactive multimedia, which has caused great responses from the public. Through the establishment of the Ultra-high-quality Media Research Center, students in the Department of Information Communication will not only be able to acquire the latest video technology, but also become the first batch of VR students to learn about VR technology through formal courses," said He-Tian Yeh, Dean of the School of Digital Design. It is also hoped that this center can promote more cross-sectoral cooperation projects in the future. Despite the fact that in recent years equipment and instruments have changed a bit, workers on video and images are now slowly coming home. Yet, as the film production moves to the last level, it has to be sent to Taipei for the dimming of color and the output of cinema specifications DCP, etc. Even if many local governments are pushing the image of the city's marketing plan, when it comes to local talent and industry instability, it is still difficult to keep from the domination of the north. Therefore, the center's primary task is to link together all the southern image workers and units, so that students can be trained directly to become the best and that film production units can reside in South Taiwan, no longer moving back and forth between the north and the south just to finish their production work. Prof. Bing-Cheung Chen, Chairman of the Department of Information Communication, said that since we cannot easily access these resources, we should create and promote relevant international courses. From the next year on, the center and the department will jointly hold an international symposium to invite domestic and foreign high-quality video related experts to give speeches and exchanges, so that the South can have early integration with the international standards of mature technology.
