Digital Design Dreamers Competition and won the first place in South Taiwan Maker
Wisdom Installation Art group, Popularity Award, and Creative Control Award

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the "3D Print Digital Design Dreamers Competition" and won the first prize of the South Taiwan Maker Wisdom Installation Art Group, Popularity Award and Creation Control Award. The award-winning works--"IBS Black Armor" and "Little Black Travelling in Technology"--were designed by the instructor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, IBS Lab. The students displayed their creative spirit and integrate creative ideas into their lives. This will give new life to the installation works in the Tainan Science Park down south. The competition, for the first time combining production, government and academic enterprises common proposition, was divided into six major themes, attracting more than 200 experts in 3D printing from related industries. A total of more than 250 works joined the competition, with the final selection of 60 finalists. Taipei Youth Development Association selected the winning teams from the fierce competition. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology beat a number of participating teams and came to the fore finally. It was not easy.

3D printing technology has successfully changed the lives of human beings with its wide range of applications. Design, medical, cultural and creative industries can see its footprint; it also accelerates the global creator (Maker) creative applications. Supported by the Industrial Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Innovation and Application Service Research Institute of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, together with the South Taiwan Industrial Park Administration, Guanghua Shopping Center and Guo Yuanyi bakery jointly organized the "3D Print Design Competition". "The IBS Armor Black," which was designed by Yu-Chuan Peng, Shi-Chian Liang, and Bing-Chian Huang, is based on the story of "General Iron Armor" in Tainan, which is unique in appearance, culturally and creatively linked together to increase the interesting elements of the story. In addition, Armor Black is a street scene projection in device art, internally integrated with the function of catching mosquito to add a line of defense against the Dengue fever in Taiwan.

In addition, “Little Black Traveling in Technology” was selected the winner by Maker Wisdom Co. Ltd. It was designed by Li-Cheng Yang and Cheng-Bang Shih. The combination of postcards and pen-boxes on the table serves as a starting point. The design concept is to integrate the common "gears" in the technology industry by making Little Black lie on top of the technology. This concept was favored by the judges and it won the South Branch of the Control Award. Both of the works are currently displayed in the Huabo Park RF Model Show held in Taipei.

IBS Lab said that in the process of making the work, it spent most of the time on the 3D rendering. In the process, they encountered many bottlenecks and setbacks, trying to fit the appearance of the game in the size of the work of the restrictions. This made the hardware and shell design more difficult. Fortunately, under the encouragement and assistance of Yi-Chiun Du, the problems encountered were resolved one by one, so was the successful completion of the game on the eve of the "black armor" and "travel technology black."
