Dialysis team from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won the Best Maker Award in the 2016 Cross-Strait IoT and Young Maker Competition for Taiwan, Macau and Hong
Prof. Bi-Ching Tseng from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Prof. Li-Chiung Du from the Department of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, jointly directed the Dialysis team from the Graduate Institute of Electrical Engineering, which was formed by Mei-Yan Lin and Jia-Chian Chang. They won the Best Maker Award in the 2016 Cross-Strait IoT and Young Maker Competition for Taiwan, Macau and Hong." They are the only award-winning academic team among all the participants.

The 3rd World Conference on IoT recently opened in Wuzhen, the General Assembly set up 16 forums with 20 issues. One of the main sub-forums involved the first session to present the Best Maker Award of the Cross-Strait IoT Competition for Taiwan, Macau, and Hong Kong to Taiwan’s Dialysis Team. The world's leading investors were invited to make comments and witness the four Young Maker winners.
The Dialysis team from Taiwan developed a subcutaneous leak detection device with actual clinical requirements. The products integrate "medical Internet of Things" with "near infrared light non-invasive sensing" technology and multi-bed detection over tissue lesions or injuries caused by subcutaneous leakage of blood. In addition, the medical object networking architecture can also integrate other sensing devices developed by the team, the integration of multiple patient physiological information and analysis, real-time provision of a variety of clinical safety warnings and the establishment of cloud data. The team has also started to integrate other medical equipment, looking forward to the structure of medical things in Taiwan and continuing to enhance the quality of Taiwan's medical environment. Their current focus is on the dialysis security and kidney application process, is the team continued in the renal dialysis in the innovative extension of the work.

On behalf of the team, Bi-Ching Tseng received the awards from the forum of the 3rd World IoT Conference held in Wuzhen, Hangzhou, which presented the award to the top 10 best young creative team members. She took part in the team presentation.
