Elite students from High schools of Taiwan to join the race of Lion Cup and win great
prizes: Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the 3rd Lion Cup National High School Competition Information and Creative Application Program Design.

In recent years, the world has been taken by a wave of programming education, in order to create a large number of talents to meet the need for software in the future. It necessitates the exploration for more outstanding high school students and help develop their ability to design professional programming and information technology applications interest in information engineering, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology organized the 3rd Lion Cup National High School Information and Creative Application Program Design and called for high school students and vocational high school students to join a series of competitions in this annual information event in this country.

This year, the competition was divided into two groups, namely, "Information Creative Group" and "Program Design Group." The Creative Design Group attracted a total of 125 students from 18 Senior High School all over the country; they participated in the presentation and presented their creative works by turns. After a full day of intense competition Nanying High School won the first prize with their "Portable Anti-humpback Device." Nanshan High School won the second prize with their "Energy-Saving System to Control Lights by Speed." Chungli Home Business High School won the third place by their "Mobile Hygiene Checker." In addition, this year Dong Jie Technology Co. sponsored the competition with great prize money. Chungli Home Business High School also won this additional sponsorship prize with their work--"Customized Map-Driven Magic Ring." NanYing High School was also awarded the prize money. The judges also selected 20 outstanding works to receive prizes and encouragement.

In addition, in the program design group (including high school and high vocational group), there were 98 team 98 students from 34 high schools from all over the country. These high school students, for their love of program design, gathered in Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to join the Tournament, fully focused on the two-hour problem solving contest of computer program language. As a result of the competition in General High School Group, Tainan First High School won both the first prize and the second prize. Panchiao High School won the third prize. As for Vocational High School Group, Kaohsiung Commercial high school won the first prize, Chiang Kai-shek Industrial High School won the second prize, and Tainan Business High School won the third prize. Kaohsiung Commercial High School won the prize money given by Dong Jie Technology Co. 38 teams were given excellence prizes and 24 teams were given prizes for their potential.
