Department of Chemical Materials, Southern Taiwan University of Science and
Technology, won the third place and a great number of excellence awards in the 2016 National Chem-E-Car Competition

Department of Chemical Materials, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, participated in the 2016 National Chem-E-Car Competition, jointly organized by Mingshin University of Science and Technology and the Taiwan Chemical Engineering Society. It won the third place from among 61 teams of colleges and universities in Taiwan. In addition to the third overall prize, it also won third place in both performance competition and creative modeling competition.

By using the magnesium-copper battery as its power, together with Mg/HCl power system, the team went all the way with their continuous attempts and efforts make due adjustments to vehicle conditions and various parameters before they finally won the third overall prize.

【Pokemon Gogogo team from Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, won third place in the creative modeling competition of the 2016 National Chem-E-Car Competition.】

The two winning works were respectively produced by "Black Enterprise x Hades Group against Dark Hall" team, directed by Prof. Chang-Ning Huang and "Naitai Chemical Best” team, directed by Prof. Ming-ching Hsu. "Successful Touchdown" team was awarded the third place in the performance competition, while "Pokemon Gogogo" team won the third prize in creative modeling competition.

President Chien Tai of STUST attaches great importance to the participation of students in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering in the "Chem-E-Car Competition." Each year, the school provides a lot of funds to the students in Chemical Engineering and Materials Engineering for their practical training.
