2016 Peopo Citizen News Awards: Department of Information and Communication,
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Department, won "News Project—News Citizen News Award."

Department of Information and Communication, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Department, participated in the 2016 Peopo Citizen News Awards, and the team—Yu-Yu Chen and 7 other students—won "News Project—News Citizen News Award." Their work, “Taiwan Chengshin Society,” bring out a great story of the ordinary people living in Chengshin Street, where the community has successfully transformed an old street into a best “Revolution for Happiness” model for the country.

Department of Information and Communication, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Department, participated in the 2016 Peopo Citizen News Awards, co-sponsored by Public Television Cultural Foundation and Excellence News Awards Foundation. There were 135 entries, the news group and the video group took "public concern," "news value," and "technical value" as the criteria of their evaluation, respective. 16 finalists were selected in news group from a total of 66 entries. The final selection gave awards to five winning works, including the work by Department of Information and Communication, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Department.

Department of Information and Communication, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Department, is the only one from a university of science and technology among the 15 campus interview centers.
