Achievement of Incubation: industrial-academic cooperation helped new business
starup: Hong Yue information donated software worth 5 million NT dollars to Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the domestically renown Hong Yue Information Co., Ltd. held a press conference for the software donation basd on their long-term cooperation in research and development. The donation stemmed from the result of incubation--"PK ERP System"--to provide Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology with software for its future teaching and research and to focus on the early stages of business startups and further assistance to enterprises. It would also help enterprises work on implementation of industrial personnel, developing the ability of students to work for the industry and solving the problem of personnel development. It is hoped that this can create a win-win situation in production and learning, altogether making more college in South Taiwan able to work in different industries and providing them more new copportunities for entrepreneurship.

Hong Yue Information Co., Ltd. set up its campus office last year at STUST Incubation Center. To show its gratitude for Southern Taiwan University of Science and technology for providing it with quality sites and rich resources, Hong Yue Information donated 100 copies of its important ERP product--"PK ERP System" (at a sum of market price for about 500 million NT dollars) to Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. Moreover, thanks to its understanding of how difficult innovation and entrepreneurship can be, the company promised to authorize anyone who set up an campus office at STUST Incubation Center to use the system free of charge for three years. This is to recognize the effort and achievement of Southern Taiwan University of Scince and Technology in actively encouraging students to run for startup.The donated PK ERP system has been innovated since 2012 through continuous efforts and improvement, gradually transforming into a system to serve small and medium enterprises. With the innovative architecture of the platform, it has integrated diffeerent industry needs. Thw system is also the first one to have imported SMART embedded mechanism and value-added features, combined with user-friendly interface and integration of peripheral applications, which not only has increased its applicability to more than 90% but also has made the system take lead of a new business software mainstream.

President Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said that the Innovation Center of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was established on July 1, 1997 under the guidance of the SME Office of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. It has been established for 19 years and has become an innovation center. The number of companies that have been consulted is 156 in total, with 129 of them having finished the cooperation, of which there are now four listed companies. There are 99 new start-ups, with 70 young entrepreneurs and corporate feedback totaling more than 35 million NT dollars. This year, the Incubation Center was awaard by the InBIA Incubation Association the first prize of the "University Incubator of the Year"; it also won the "International Honorary Center" by the SME Office of the Ministry of Economy.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology officially took over the operation of the SME Incubator at Tainan Science Park, located in the Economy and Small and Medium Enterprises Administration Center, on January 1 this year. In the future Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology will integrate with the Southern Science Park, Tainan Cultural and Creative Industrial Park, and STUST Innovation Center into one unity to help young people achieve their dreams of entrepreneurship, effectively link together academic research resources, assist SMEs in achieving the goal of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
