Park Jazz Music Camp at Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park
Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park was first aligned with KoSwing Big Band in April, which aims at promoting education. The band thus became one of the stationed live bands for "B16 Playground," a music brand established by the industrial park. The industrial park invited a group of top musical teachers, led by Gene Aiken—a jazz music educator nominated by the Grammy Awards. They would host the one-week "Jazz Gene: Jazz Music Spring Camp" in the newly finished professional music space for rehearsal and teaching. It is hoped that the camp can help create a high-quality learning environment for people to learn great jazz music.

KoSwing Big Band has been working hard on the promotion of jazz music education since its inception in 2013. In addition to scheduled practice, they have also invited top jazz music teachers at home or abroad to help members learn about typical American jazz music. "Playing music is really a great thing, especially when our band plays as a big band. Many people are worried that jazz music could be very difficult; they don’t dare to play if they cannot play well to some extent. Yet, in our big band, we played like a choir, where people sing together. As our confidence increase, we have a greater sense of accomplishment. Every time the training group plays, members are very happy!" said Yi-Chen Hseng, the band leader of KoSwing Big Band.

Yi-Feng Wang, General Manager of Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park, said that all kinds of music promotion have been one of the main operations of the park, and it was our pleasure to have alliance with the KoSwing Big Band. Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park is located near Tainan Railway Station, where the fourth floor is equipped with a full range of professional music training space and provide evening service. It is hoped that by taking the advantages and resources of the park, STUST can gather together domestic and foreign teachers to create fertile soil in the southern Taiwan for developing musical environment for the public, offering them more convenient music resources in greater depth!
