Southern University of Science and Technology passed the AACSB International
Business Education Certification, becoming the only private university of science and technology to have passed a world-class certification.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has just received a letter from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), which informed the school that it has obtained the AACSB certification by meeting all the review criteria. Of the business schools all over the world, only 5% have passed the AACSB certification. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is the third of more than 90 universities in Taiwan that has passed the world-class certification (the first two are Taiwan University of Science and Technology and National Yunlin University of Science and Technology). It is therefore the only university of science and technology that has been certified in southern region and the only certified private university of science and technology.

Founded in 1916, AACSB is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of global business management. The agency has more than 1,500 members in more than 90 countries around the world. AACSB certification is recognized as the most credible, highest international Business Education Certification. President Chien Tai said that the certification period is very long, and the standard is high and comprehensive, including the philosophy of the school's business and strategic planning, resource input, teacher quality, research standards, teaching quality assurance system, curriculum planning , student employment and achievement, etc. The fact that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has passed the certification is the result of a long time effort through procedures of meeting the review criteria for review and improvement. According to the current provisions of the Ministry of Education, schools that have passed the AACSB business education certification are exempt from the assessment regularly conducted by the Ministry of Education. President Tai pointed out that universities that have passed AACSB certification are currently only a small number of research universities supported by the Ministry of Education's top universities and few private universities with great performances. These schools are of quality that is higher than the standards of the Ministry of Education in the self-request. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology made the attempt to obtain AACSB certification not to be exempted from the Ministry of Education evaluation, but to focus on a grand vision for the future, where STUST can stand with world-class universities on the highest international platform and learn from each other, our graduates can get the world recognition and global attention, and all the students can come up with a more successful career development.

The STUST Business School is composed of 9 faculties, 3 degree programs, 12 master programs, and 1 doctoral degree, with more than 8,000 students. It is one of the largest business schools in Taiwan. At present, schools of all levels are affected by the serious impact of birth rate decline; yet, the school’s performance has been generally recognized by the community with its strong market competitiveness.
