In celebration of the second anniversary of Tainan Cultural and Creative Industry Park, a grand opening ceremony was held, with the "520 Tainan, I love you and embroidered display of the new 8 best sights in Tainan" celebration party held on Thursday, May 18 at 10:30 am. With its distinction from the traditional embroidery—"closely linked to its needle and lined up in row,” Taiwan flying needle embroidery has created a method that adopted Western painting and its principle of coloring to its embroidery techniques. The difference lies in the fact that the embroidery employs cloth instead of paper, needles instead of pens, colored silk instead of paint, lines instead of the strokes. The embroidery is rich and expressive, full of freedom and confidence, and unique in its taste.

The richness in color is the biggest difference between Taiwan flying needle embroidery and other modes of embroidery. It breaks away from the old rows of needle, with embroidery that can show its own ideas and skills to express. It is thus very close to modern painting.

Of the five major cultural parks subject to the Ministry of Culture, the one in Tainan is the only one run by a school—Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. General Manager Yi-Feng Wang of Tainan Cultural and Creative Park said that last year the park held a "concentric footwear, flower culture" anniversary celebration to promote environmental education combined with culture and the arts as the theme.
