Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Mie University in Japan joined hands again to challenge the 2017 Ene-1 GP SUZUKA race: Vice President Hiroshi Nishimura of Mie University and Director Andoh Tomohiro of the Kaohsiung Office of Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association visited Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology.
Recently, Vice President Hiroshi Nishimura of Mie University and Director Andoh Tomohiro of the Kaohsiung Office of Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association visited Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. In addition to discussions about EMBA overseas training group with our School of Business and Management, they also saw the demonstration of the racing car to be used in the joint team’s participation in the 2017 Ene-1 GP SUZUKA race. Vice President Hiroshi Nishimura highly appreciated the Design and implementation capabilities of STUST’s production team. He looked forward to the final delivery of the racing car to Japan after the engine assembly test and to the joint test by the teachers and students of the two universities together, with a view to another victory in the near future.

President Chien Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said that the two universities joined forces to participate in the 2016 Ene-1 GP SUZUKA race and ranked 10thamong the 86 teams. This year is the third year of their joint team race. The participating body formed by the teachers and students of both Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and Mie university worked on the racing car, while Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has been responsible for the production of the racing car. It is hoped that through the previous experience, the production of the car can lead to great success in the race this year. International cooperation has been the focus of the development of the South Taiwan University of Science and Technology, and it is greatly expected that more and more students can have opportunities to study abroad through this type of cooperation.

Vice President Nishimura Yoshihiro thanked STUST for its strong support to the two schools’ working together in the joint efforts to enhance students' ability to communicate with each other as well as to develop students' ability to solve problems.

The exchange meetings was conducted by Associate Professor Wei-jin Chang of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, who first introduced how STUST production team had worked on the body of the racing car, along with the characteristics and the production process of Ene-1 GP SUZUKA in 2017. In order to promote the cooperation of the 2017 Ene-1 GP SUZUKA Race, the teachers and students from both universities have exchanged their views on the design, production and other issues as they formulated their joint participation planning. President Tai thanked Mie University for its assistance to the planning of the two overseas study groups of the Business School. In addition to arranging Japanese corporate practice courses and cultural studies, Mie University also arranged for visits to local well-known enterprises and held meetings with local small and medium enterprises to promote the exchange of business people in Taiwan and Japan to create a future business opportunities for cooperation.
