Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology passed the AACSB
international business education certification: Director Yu-Hui Yang of the Bureau of
Technical and Vocational Education, the Ministry of Education, was invited to presided over the opening ceremony.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has recently passed the AACSB international business education certification. The 5th of June saw the certification mark opening ceremony and its press conference held at STUST. Yu-Hui Yang, Director of the Bureau of Technical and Vocational Education, the Ministry of Education, was invited to give a lecture on "Prospects and Innovation in Technical and Vocational Education." She encouraged the school to be stand on the highest level. The certification was proved to be accompanied only by world-class universities, In the future STUST will continue to pursue excellence.

Yu-Hui Yang, Director of the Bureau of Technical and Vocational Education, the Ministry of Education, congratulated the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and paid her highest respect to President Chien Tai for his excellent performance. She said that the achievements of this school proved to be a great honor. The fact that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology could successfully pass the AACSB certification test is evidence that this is a high-quality university of science and technology and that it is competitive enough to nation-run universities. To some extent, STUST is even more competitive, more able to meet the needs of the industry for talented staffers. AACSB certification is internationally recognized as the most credible, the highest level of business education certification. Only 5% of the world's polytechnic schools are certified by AACSB, and only a handful of national research universities supported by the top universities in Taiwan, as well as few private universities, have been accredited by the certification system. In Taiwan, there are more than 90 scientific and technological universities, while Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is the third one that has passed the world-class certification (the first two being Taiwan University of Science and Technology and National Yunlin University of Science and Technology). The courage to challenge and the ability to have successfully obtained this certification indicate that the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has meet the highest academic standards, and its educational quality has reached the world’s most advanced level.

Founded in 1916, AACSB, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of global business education, has been recognized for more than 100 years and is the most prestigious, highest-rated business education certification in the world. It has more than 1,500 members in more than ten countries. President Chien Tai of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology said that in the past we may have to go to NTU, NCHU, or National Zhongshan University to see this this certification mark. From today on, this mark has been officially linked to the Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. This represents the academic standards and educational quality of STUST has been through the most stringent international inspection and is now standing on the same platform for the depth of academic exchanges and cooperation with world’s best universities. It is at the same time because of the high and comprehensive certification requirements with regard to the school's business philosophy and strategic planning, resource investment, the quality of teachers, the quality of the school, research standards, teaching quality assurance system, curriculum planning, student employment and achievement, etc. There must be continuous improvement and refinement. The President said that as early as the time of former President Chang in 2007, STUST became an AACSB member. Dean De-Guang Chou of the College of Business pointed out that there are more than 8,000 students enrolled in the college, with a full range of professionals with doctoral degrees to complete the system, and it is one of Taiwan's largest business colleges.
