In the name of Taiwan, Zeelandia Team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won the championship in the 2017 Global Brand Planning Competition.
Zeelandia Team of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, directed by Prof. Wei-Chen Yang of the Department of International Business and Administration and Prof. Jia-Jun Lin of the Department of Visual Communication and Design, participated in the 2017 Global Brand Planning Competition, organized by Global Chinese Marketing Federation, Singapore in the National Community Leadership Institute (NACLI). The finalists include contestants from Taiwan, China, Singapore, India, Malaysia and many other countries. The team grasped all the group awards, including Gold Category, Best Report, Best Performance, and the Global Champion in the final. To be sure, it was the biggest winner.

Zeelandia Team was formed by Yu-Jen Pan, Min-Rong Tsai, Shin-Yi Gan, Zi-Jia Liu, and Shia-Min Lin. Their work was developed, on the basis of Chinese cultural elements, into an innovative design as well as a mass-produced cultural and creative product, refined by collaborative team performance in exhibition, real time experience in marketing, and oversea market expansion. Their work was further tested by “eight key elements of brand management, targeting on some parts lacking in the brand management and then improving it by marketing planning. The purpose is to "enhance brand awareness, strengthen the brand image, and expand overseas market.”
In terms of the team's brand design, the brand positioning is correct, creative and highly viable. It won the Best Planning Award. Their presentations encompassed a variety of innovative products, vivid and impressive, won the Best Performance Award. They also won the Gold Category and the overall championship of the 2017 Global Brand Planning Competition, becoming the biggest winner in the competition.

Prof. Wei-Chen Yang of the Department of International Business and Administration and Prof. Jia-Jun Lin of the Department of Visual Communication and Design have co-advise the team for three consecutive years--2015, 2016, and 2017—in the name of Taiwan. It has participated in the global brand planning contests and now finally won the global championship as a result of all its efforts. Global Chinese Marketing Federation will record a short film for the champion team, which will be available on the web pages of both TIMS and GCMF as a model for the Global Brand Planning Competition. Their glory is the result of the efforts of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology for many years working on practical training and business training for its students. It also confirms the strength of its Business College, which has recently been certified by AACSB International.
