Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won the second prize of the Briefing Group in the 2017 National Practicum Project Innovation and Creativity Competition.
The Department of Information Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, participated in the 2017 National Practicum Project Innovation and Creativity Competition, organized by Kunshan University of Science and Technology. The STUST team won the second prize of the Briefing Group from a competition with 63 teams from 16 schools all over Taiwan through fierce competition Name, achievement proud.
Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology had a number of teams joining the competition, of which "QR Code Ticket Verification and Query System" Team finally won the second prize. The team was formed by students from the Department of Information Management—Yun-Ni Wu, Yu-Chen Chang, Ying-Shuan Lin, and Yu-Ting Lin, directed by Prof. Ding-Chao Wang. All the students did their best to prepare the final information during the last 15 days. Their innovative project is both practical and convenient. The thematic system includes four subsystems: namely, the Internet of Things sensing subsystem, the car reminder subsystem, the auxiliary subsystem, and the station navigation subsystem. Through the sub-system, the user can confirm that he or she is standing on the right platform and taking the right bus. They system also provides customized meal service, so that passengers choose their own food according to personal preferences. There is also to remind the passengers of departure time lest they fail to catch the train. Through this APP, passengers can have easy and comfortable rides.

The 2017 National Practicum Project Innovation and Creativity Competition aimed to encourage college students nationwide to exchange the results of their graduation project and help students develop their independent thinking and power to analyze. Through the competition process, the participating students can come to learn that innovation and practice should be combined together and that innovation takes practical experience and considerable enthusiasm rather than just a simple theoretical talk.
